Partial reopening of Consular section

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia will be offering limited consular services until further notice in order to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Schengen visa (type C)

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia is not accepting applications for visa C until further notice other than from the following categories of applicants:

  • aliens, whose travel is considered urgent

  • aliens with settled status in one of the EU member states

  • EU citizens and their family members, when they enjoy the principle of freedom of movement in the EU 

National long-stay visas (type D)

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia is accepting applications from the following categories of applicants:

  • holders of diplomatic or service passport for the purpose of discharging their functions in the Republic of Slovenia

  • family members of citizens of the Republic of Slovenia / member state of the EU with the purpose of family reunification

  • participants of student exchanges in the duration from 3 months up to 1 year

  • professional athletes, artists, researchers, scientists, provided they present a letter from the competent ministry of the Republic of Slovenia expressing national interest of the Republic of Slovenia for their arrival

Residence permits

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia is accepting applications for residence permits and collecting fingerprints in those procedures already in progress in front of the competent bodies in the Republic of Slovenia. Applicant interviews shall not be carried out until further notice.

Legalisation of documents

Legalisations of documents are carried out only by request.
